Spring Mixtape

I thought I would stay ahead of the game and get this out early. My spring mixtape, featuring some of my favorite tracks and artists of today. I tried to keep it clubby, with a sort of beat-bumpin/summer-vibe kind of feel that makes summer seem just around the corner. So crank up the volume, sit back and enjoy!

I'll Get You - Classixx feat. Jeppe
Heartbreaker (Wolfgang Gartner Remix) - MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend
Runaway (Calling In Sick Remix) - Grum
Hold On (Russ Chimes Remix) - The Vanish
This Is Fiction (Final) - Le Prix
Fragile (Tron Legacy) - Daft Punk
So Many Nights - Burns
Moon Theory - Miami Horror
When The Sirens Sound (Russ Chimes Remix) - Heads We Dance
Silvia (Robotberget Remix) - Miike Snow

Guetta Remix

You cannot like this type of music without ever coming across a David Guetta club banger... He has recently... what am I saying, he is always throwing down remixes or is busy working away on another Fuck Me ablum. He has changed dance music as we know it. I went searching for a few new remixes, here is what I got...

Check out the visually stunning music video for this one....

Always a pleasure,

Stylo - Gorillaz

Bassist Murdoc said: “This is a new sound for Gorillaz. An electro-ish ‘crack funk’ sound, with a little bit of politics and a lot of soul going down. With ‘Stylo’, I wanted the music to feel euphoric, whilst still putting across how precarious our tightly packed situation is now, worldwide. Where we’re at as a species on this overpopulated planet.”

My little party mix of Stylo featering remixes from  Alex Metric &  Chiddy Bang

Studying?

We've all heard the saying that Beethoven is the the most effective music when you're studying, but is it really? Personally, I cannot stand sitting there and listening to his 9 symphonies; studying is boring enough. Here's a little collection of music that I tend to enjoy when I hit the books.

Music Videos

So I have decided to start posting all my songs on youtube accompanied with a little music video of some sort. Now I'm no big shot so they will probably all be pirated videos... so let's hope they don't get taken down... Here's one of the videos that has already been processed on youtube... oh yeah, and it's in HD baby..

Volta Cab

Volta Cab comes from Mother Russia and brings us into the neon future. Into the times where space rockets are the most widespread type of transport. Into the times where teachers at your childs' school are martians and chief-cooks of your favourite restaraunt are from Mercury. Into the times when the war is over and everyone in the universe loves one anothers in the interstellar dance to the synthpop music heavily influenced by the 1980's pop-culture. Myspace

I Can't Shake This Feeling (GRUM New Single)

Grum's super-cool D.I.Y. ethic and taste for electronic music old and new means he's probably our hottest tip since Aeroplane first took off... His new single I Can't Shake This Feeling is killing it out on the disco floors, But his video is something else. Beginning with attractive women clad in 80's workout wear, it feels like something we've seen before. Heck, "Can't Shake This Feeling" also sounds like something we've heard before. Handclaps, funky bass and a soulful singer play as the attractive women stretch and wink at the camera. Then a tubby man arrives like a 70's porn star and before you know it, he is unveiling all sorts of fatty foods in front of the women, who begin shoveling it into their mouths as fast as they can.

Here's the original video and my own personal edition of Grum's new beat.

Ruth Flowers (Mamy Rock)

Whoever said you can't keep a good woman down obviously had the foresight to know that Ruth Flowers was soon to be hot on the DJ scene. She spins at the hottest clubs in Paris, wears some of the freshest duds, and she's called "Mamy" by those closest to her. See, Ruth is 69 years old...and she literally kills on the decks.

Russ Chimes

In a sea of postmodern hipsters cum bedroom producers there exisits floating on a sparkling lilo of talent, a man from the UK who knows whats in the party.

Sounding a bit like something halfway between a Sega game and an airbrushed mural of Wayfarer'd flamingos, Russ Chimes' tunes may at times elicit some degree of nostalgia, although the inherent quality definitley proves he's more about about doing what feels good rather than the irony. (in a manner perhaps akin to funk fanatics Chromeo).
Mixtape

Russ (a 25 year old producer from London) also heads up the british wing of French west coast retro-futuristic collective Valerie, and blends some seriously catchy 80's synth hooks with some really impressive layering and lush composition, all topped with a groove that can keep you dancing until the sun comes up over the beach front palm trees. Check him out on last fm...

enjoy,
Willdo
